Several Types of Nuts and Seeds
While some types of nuts contain high purines, others are safe for individuals with gout to consume. Nuts like almonds, walnuts, chia seeds, and cashews have lower purine content and still provide health benefits.
Yoghurt and Low-Fat Dairy Products
Low-fat dairy products, such as yogurt, cheese, and skim milk, are great for individuals with gout because they are low in purines. Several studies have shown that consuming low-fat milk and yogurt can help increase the excretion of uric acid through urine, which helps prevent the buildup of uric acid in the joints and reduces the risk of gout attacks.
